About Me

Will Fuller

Founder Designer & Developer

By day, I am a UX designer creating interfaces for cars in the automotive industry. By night (and weekends), I'm building Swipe Save.

Swipe Save is as a side project I created to solve my own problem, no budgeting app quite works the way I needed it to. I used to use Money Dashboard, and I genuinely loved it for its very manual categorisation of transaction but it's gone now, and I wanted something which is better to replace it.

Most apps either rely heavily on auto-categorisation, push financial products, and are often boring to use. I wanted something simpler, a tool that helps you clearly see where your money goes.

Swipe Save is me designing the budgeting app I wish existed. You can read more below about why I'm building it and what I want it to offer.

Why Am I Building Swipe Save?

I want to know exactly where my money goes

I want to track every penny, dime, or cent and know exactly what it was spent on. Not roughly. Not guessed. Every transaction should make sense to me.

Auto-categorisation does not work

It just doesn't! If I buy shampoo and also buy windscreen washer fluid on Amazon, they both show up as "Amazon". Same reference, totally different spending. No auto system can catch these fall into two separate categories.

The Launch Plan

See below the steps I need to progress the app through before launch. Signup to the waitlist to stay up to date on the progress and be the first to hear when the app is ready.

  1. Connect to Plaid sandbox and sync dummy transaction data to an early app build.

  2. Build initial app which includes manually adding transactions and uploading from CSV and PDF bank statements.

  3. Test initial app with early users.

  4. Bug fix and app refinement.

  5. Launch initial iOS app to the App Store.

  6. Get Plaid production API approval.

  7. Connect and test Plaid production API.

  8. Test fully working app which syncs bank account transactions to Swipe Save with early users.

  9. Launch Plaid bank connectivity update to iOS app to the App Store.

  10. Develop and test Android version of the app.

  11. Launch Android app to the Google Play Store.
